Week 10 predictions focus on a trio of high-profile battles included top-ranked Oregon vs erratic Michigan and an SEC clash between Florida and Georgia.
Oregon Ducks at Michigan Wolverines (+15.5/45.5)
The No. 1 ranked Oregon Ducks remain undefeated on the season at 8-0, with a mediocre 4-4 record ATS. Last week the Ducks easily rolled over Illinois 38-9 as 22-point favorites. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel picked apart Illinois with 291 yards passing and three touchdown passes.
On the road the Ducks have been a solid bet lately at 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight. When favored on the road they’ve won 12 straight with a strong 10-2 ATS record.
Michigan’s disappointing season got a brief lift last week after they defeated Michigan State 24-17 as 3-point favorites. That bumped their records to 5-3 SU and a still lousy 2-6 ATS.
The Wolverines are 9-1 SU in their last 10 at home, but they haven’t been a good bet at 4-5-1 ATS. Their Big Ten-worst passing attack may have a tough time against an Oregon defense that is fourth in scoring in the Big Ten and Top 5 against the pass.
Pick: Oregon -15.5
Pittsburgh Panthers at SMU Mustangs (-7.5/58.5)
The undefeated Panthers face their biggest test of the season so far when they face SMU as road underdogs. Last week Pittsburgh beat up on Syracuse 41-13 as 4.5-point favorites to improve to 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS.
The Pittsburgh defense shone bright in the win with four sacks and five interceptions, including three picks that were returned for touchdowns. It wasn’t all good news last week though. As QB Eli Holstein was injured and his status for this week remains unknown.
SMU barely avoided a big upset last week after edging Duke 28-27 in overtime as 11.5-point favorites. That was the Mustangs fifth straight win, during which they’re 4-1 ATS. When favored they’re 8-2 SU but only 5-5 ATS in their last 10.
Pick: Pittsburgh +7.5
Florida Gators vs Georgia Bulldogs (-16.5/52.5)
SEC rivals clash this week with both teams returning from their bye week. This is a neutral site matchup being played at EverBank Stadium, the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Gators are playing some of their best football of the season right now and have won four straight ATS. That includes a 48-20 upset win over Kentucky as 2.5-point underdogs two weeks ago. Florida has also covered in three straight as underdogs.
Georgia may be 6-1 SU on the season but have been a frequent money-loser for bettors at 2-5 ATS. They last took to the field two weeks ago as rare 4-point underdogs in a 30-15 win over Texas. The Bulldogs are 1-5 ATS in their last six and look like another bad bet this weekend in a game they should win but won’t cover.
Pick: Florida +16.5
