Buffalo Bills president Russ Brandon and coach Doug Marrone have issued denials of a CBS Sports report that said Marrone and director of player personnel Jim Monos got into a heated argument at a practice.
Brandon did acknowledge an argument to the Buffalo News, but said Monos wasn't even at the practice.
"Monos wasn't even involved," Brandon said. "[General manager Doug] Whaley and coach were involved in the discussion. This is the best working relationship I have seen, to be honest, between a coach and a GM. They're great competitors and communicators."
Marrone laughed off the report.
"There's a lot of things in that I'll probably catch a lot of heat on from my friends," Marrone said. "It's just not true."
Maroone said he recommended Monos to the Bills.
"Did we have a discussion? I confirm that, absolutely," Marrone said. "We talk every day, three times a day. We talk about a lot of things. We're competitive. I couldn't be happier with those guys. I really couldn't."
