He's a former Seattle Seahawks seventh-round draft pick.
They also promoted cornerback Brandon Smith from the practice squad.
Linebacker Marcus Dowtin and cornerback Johnny Adams were released.
Quarterback Dennis Dixon, a former Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles backup, was signed to the practice squad.
