You could make the argument that Browns coach Mike Pettine waited too long to substitute in Johnny Manziel for Brian Hoyer.
Hoyer was ineffective throughout Cleveland's 26-10 loss to Buffalo. In the fourth quarter, Pettine made the move to put in Manziel, who drove Cleveland down the field for a quick touchdown. Manziel may not have the veteran experience Hoyer has but he probably gives the Browns a better chance at breaking big plays.
Hoyer got away with being a game manager earlier in the season but he's played worse than that in recent weeks. It may be Manziel's time to step in and lead the Browns for the remainder of the season, especially considering the Browns' postseason chances have taken a hit during this span.
