The Denver Broncos cut safety John Boyett one day after he was arrested and charged with third-degree misdemeanor assault, according to the Denver Post.

"We are disappointed to learn of the matter involving John Boyett and are in the process of gathering more information," the Broncos said prior to cutting Boyett.

While with the Indianapolis Colts as a rookie last year, Boyett was arrested and charged with disorderly public intoxication. The Colts cut him and he then joined the Broncos' practice squad.
