The Denver Broncos placed running back Montee Ball on injured reserve as well as safety Quinton Carter.
They activated linebacker Danny Trevathan from injured reserve-designated to return and promoted tight end Dominique Jones to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.
Trevathan had 125 tackles last season.
