The Cleveland Browns are considering a switch at quarterback, and may go with rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel.
Manziel gave the Browns a boost during a 26-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
"The door is definitely open for a change at the quarterback position,'' Browns coach Mike Pettine said. "It's not like we're just going to go back to Brian. This has been a cumulative thing, where discussions about a change at quarterback have been more and more lively. We'll evaluate both quarterbacks and have a decision soon."
Brian Hoyer was benched after throwing his second interception of the game.
Manziel rushed for a touchdown during his relief appearance.
"Sometimes you just need change for the sake of change," Pettine said."We're all about competition. It's 'Who gives us the best chance to win?' So far, Brian has been the answer to that question.''
