The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released veteran cornerback Darrelle Revis.
Revis had a $1.5 million roster bonus due today.
The Buccaneers were unsuccessful in their attempts to trade him.
Among the teams he's already been linked to in various reports: his old team, the New York Jets, the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots and the Cleveland Browns.
The Jets, who traded Revis to the Buccaneers last year, will now get a fourth-round draft pickinstead of a third-rounder because of him being off the Buccaneers' roster.
Revis was due a $16 million base salary.
