For a change, we have some positive news on the law enforcement beat for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
No, we can’t say it involves Aqib Talib. However, the case against linebacker Geno Hayes, who was arrested in December and charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing, is over. Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times reports that the disorderly conduct charge was dropped and Hayes pleaded no contest to trespassing.
If you recall, police used a stun gun to subdue Hayes at Blue Martini, a hopping Tampa night place. At the time, it was the Bucs’ third arrest in two months.
Per the report, the courty withheld adjudication and Hayes was ordered to pay $265 in court costs. So, he’s in good shape moving forward provided he stays out of trouble.
Talib continues to prepare his defense against charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Texas.
