Get used to it, Buccaneers fans. There could be more of these to come.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the Kansas City Chiefs tonight in a preseason game at Raymond James Stadium and the game will be blacked out in the local television market.
Per the Tampa Tribune, it is the first Bucs’ game that has not been aired live in the local market in 12 years. The Glazer family has acknowledged there could be more blackouts this season as the team struggles to sell out the stadium.
Basically, a blackout means the game cannot be shown within a 75-mile radius of Tampa, and that reaches as far away as Sarasota and Orlando. Ch. 8 in Tampa will broadcast the game at 11 a.m. Sunday.
