The San Diego Chargers announced that veteran center Nick Hardwick is retiring after 11 seasons.
Hardwick had been starrting since his rookie season in 2004. He started all 136 games he played, including 67 consecutive games.
Hardwick suffered a neck stinger in 2014 and was placed on injured reserve.
Four other players started at center after Hardwick was declared out for hte season.
Hardwick 33, was in the final year of his contract.
