Clemson LB Skalski (groin) sidelined indefinitely
Clemson linebacker James Skalski will be sidelined indefinitely with a groin injury, Tigers coach Dabo Swinney said Tuesday.
The 6-foot, 240-pound fifth-year senior missed No. 1 Clemson’s 47-21 victory against Syracuse on Saturday with the injury, and Swinney said an MRI on Monday revealed more significant damage. Skalski will require surgery.
“That is a big loss for us,” Swinney said. “He will miss a few games, unfortunately. It’s in the groin area and we will have to see how he responds.”
Skalski tallied 27 tackles during the Tigers’ first five games. He returned a fumble 17 yards for a touchdown in a 49-0 win against the Citadel on Sept. 19.
During his first full season as a starter in 2019, Skalski racked up 90 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 15 games.
Clemson (6-0, 5-0 ACC) hosts Boston College (4-2, 3-2) on Saturday.
