Making correct college football picks is tough at the best of times and pandemic days are far from the bets of times. We handicapped three winners. Good luck.
Kansas State Wildcats at Oklahoma Sooners Pick | Matchup Report | Odds -28/60.5 at BetRivers Sportsbook
The Sooners are coming off a 48-0 drubbing of Missouri State as a 47.5-point favorite. Obviously they’ll get a tougher test this week against Kansas State. Even with last week’s win the Cowboys are only 2-5 against the spread in their last seven.
Kansas State has been a strong underdog play at 4-1 ATS in their last five and 8-2 ATS in their last 10. Last season the Wildcats upset the Sooners 48-41 as a 23.5-point underdog. We don’t think Kansas State will win straight up again, but we’ll definitely take them at +28
Florida State vs Miami pick | Matchup Report | Odds -11.5/53.5 at SugarHouse NJ
Florida State Seminoles at Miami Hurricanes (-11.5/53.5) – The Hurricanes breezed past Louisville 47-34 as a 2.5-point favorite last week to improve to 2-0 ATS in the season. Miami lives up to their billing at home against teams with losing records with a 4-1 ATS mark in their last five games.
Florida State is coming off an embarrassing 16-13 loss to Georgia Tech in which they were a 13-point favorite. That was their third straight loss ATS, and they’re 2-7 ATS in their last nine. On the road the Seminoles are 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine. Take Miami -11.5 with confidence.
Mississippi State Bulldogs at LSU Tigers | Matchup Report | Odds -16.5/57.5 at BetRivers
LSU, the defending national champs, get their season started this weekend and we really like the total in this game. Mississippi State has been Under machines, going Under the posted total in eight of their last 10 games. In conference games Mississippi State is 14-4 Under in their last 18 matchups. The Tigers are replacing Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow at quarterback, and they’ll be doing that without spring practice to get the offense in gear. In their first game you shouldn’t expect new QB Myles Brennan to immediately shoot the lights out. The last five matchups between the Bulldogs and Tigers all went Under the posted total. Make it six, and take the Under on the 57.5 total.
