Incarnate Word star QB Cameron Ward enters transfer portal

Incarnate Word quarterback Cameron Ward has entered the transfer portal after a huge 2021 season.

The FCS star passed for 4,648 yards, 47 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while helping Incarnate Word to a 10-3 record.

Ward decided to enter the portal after coach Eric Morris departed to become the offensive coordinator at Washington State.

Ward ended up at the private school in San Antonio because no major schools were interested in his services after he played in a Wing-T offense in high school.

“With the recent change (of) our Head Coach who recruited me and provided me with my only college scholarship offer, I’m facing much uncertainty,” Ward said in his Twitter announcement. “… it is important for me to be in an offensive system that utilizes my skill set to the maximum. … I find it best sooner than later to explore all available opportunities.”

Ward set school records of 610 yards and seven touchdowns during a 55-52 win over Southeastern Louisiana on Nov. 6. He passed for over 300 yards on 11 occasions.
