Miami RB Cam’Ron Harris declares for NFL draft

The Miami Hurricanes gained a coach but are losing a top offensive weapon.

One day after Miami fired Manny Diaz and hired head coach Mario Cristobal, running back Cam’Ron Harris declared for the 2022 NFL Draft on Tuesday.

Harris, who suffered a season-ending right knee injury in October, announced his decision on social media.

“It’s been a challenging journey for me not finishing the season because God had other plans,” he wrote, in part. “I have decided to declare for the 2022 NFL Draft. Thank you Miami.”

Harris rushed for 409 yards and five touchdowns and caught 11 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown in seven games this season.

A four-star recruit in the 2018 class, Harris finishes his Hurricanes career with 1,794 rushing yards and 22 scores plus 393 receiving yards and four TDs.
