North Carolina S Wolfolk ruled academically ineligible
North Carolina starting safety Myles Wolfolk was declared academically ineligible by the university on Thursday and will miss the rest of the campaign.
According to the school, Wolfolk “fell behind in his graduate work this past semester, which recently ended. As a result, he is unable to participate moving forward.”
Wolfolk was taking graduate courses after earning undergraduate degrees in sociology and communications last December.
Wolfolk had five tackles in North Carolina’s 31-6 season-opening win over Syracuse last Saturday.
Wolfolk played in just nine games over the previous two seasons due to injuries. He had 25 tackles and three interceptions in five games (four starts) last season and recorded 23 tackles in four games (three starts) in 2018.
As a redshirt freshman in 2017, Wolfolk played in 10 games (four starts) and had 32 tackles and two interceptions.
Overall, Wolfolk had 85 tackles and five interceptions in 20 career games for the Tar Heels.
