Report: Appalachian State-Louisiana game PPD
Next week’s Sun Belt showdown between Appalachian State and Louisiana will be postponed, Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel reported Thursday.
The game slated for Wednesday, Oct. 7, in Boone, N.C., will likely be rescheduled for Dec. 4 or 5 due to positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing at Appalachian State, per the report.
The rematch of last season’s Sun Belt championship game, won 45-38 by Appalachian State, was scheduled to be televised for a national audience on ESPN.
The next game on the schedule for the Ragin’ Cajuns (3-0, 2-0 Sun Belt) is an Oct. 17 home date with Coastal Carolina.
The Mountaineers (2-1, 0-0) will now play their conference opener at Georgia Southern on Oct. 14.
