USC receiver Drake London declares for draft
Wide receiver Drake London, who won Pac-12 offensive player of the year honors despite missing four games due to an injury, is leaving the University of Southern California for the NFL.
The junior made his intention known with a post on his Twitter account Wednesday night.
He wrote, “It’s been a true blessing to compete as a Trojan over the past three seasons. … To my coaches and teammates, thank you for pushing me each and every day. I would not be in the position I am today without you all.
“I will forever be a Trojan and cannot wait to represent the best brotherhood in the NFL. Fight On!”
London made 88 catches for 1,084 yards and seven touchdowns despite playing in just eight games. He broke his right ankle on Oct. 30 against Arizona, was carted off the field and missed the rest of the season.
In three seasons with the Trojans, London compiled 160 catches for 2,153 yards and 15 touchdowns.
ESPN lists London as the No. 2 receiver in the 2022 NFL Draft class and the No. 7 prospect overall. CBS Sports’ latest mock draft had him going with the 23rd pick, the fifth wide receiver on the list.
