Dan Orlovsky is back.

Released by the suddenly quarterback-poor Indianapolis Colts at the end of preseason, Orlovsky beat out competitor Brodie Croyle to rejoin the suddenly quarterback-poorer Colts on Tuesday, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Orlovsky gives the 0-3 Colts some insurance behind Curtis Painter, who may be making his first NFL start Sunday night in Tampa Bay, with Kerry Collins suffering from post-concussion issues and Peyton Manning perhaps done for the season.
