The Washington Commanders welcomed back cornerback Fabian Moreau on Tuesday, signing him to a contract.

Terms were not disclosed by the team for Moreau, who spent his first four seasons in Washington after the team selected him in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

While Moreau is being added to the roster, the Commanders announced fellow cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon was placed on the reserve/retired list.

Moreau, 32, recorded 17 tackles and two passes defensed in 11 games last season with the Minnesota Vikings.

He has 322 tackles, seven interceptions, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 124 career games (56 starts) with the Commanders, Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, Denver Broncos and Vikings.

Witherspoon, 31, signed a one-year contract with the Commanders in March after spending the last three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. He had eight tackles and one interception in six games (two starts) in 2025.

Witherspoon totaled 243 tackles, 13 interceptions -- including one returned for a touchdown -- and three fumble recoveries in 96 career games (64 starts) with the San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Rams.
