Deal or no deal, Morris Claiborne says he is headed to training camp.

The cornerback, drafted sixth overall by the Dallas Cowboys after a bold trade up the board, doesn’t have a contract done yet. He told Jimmy Watson of the Shreveport Times that is not going to deter him from being on time.

I have no idea (about when the contract will be done),” Claiborne said. “I let my agents and those guys handle that. So far, they seem to be doing a pretty good job. I’ll patiently wait. I’m not in no hurry. You hear a lot of talk about people saying I’m holding out. No I’m not holding out. I’m going to camp signed or not signed. It don’t matter.”

Claiborne held a youth football clinic on Saturday and is anxious to get going after he was slowed in the offseason with a wrist injury that limited him in the Cowboys’ program.

“I can’t wait,” he said. “It’s been a while because of my wrist, so far so good. It’s getting healthy and I’m ready for camp to start.”
