The next step in the Chris Johnson holdout with the Titans could be a counter proposal from the running back's came to the team.
Indications, according to TitanInsider, are that the move could come in the next few days. The two sides met on Wednesday in Nashville, but remain far apart in negotiations.
Johnson was reached by the website, but had virtually no comment on the situation.
Asked if he might miss the Titans opener in Jacksonville on Sept. 11, he said, “I don't know. I can't really comment on much right now.”
The dilemma, of course, as spelled out by NFP's Matt Bowen is how much to pay Johnson and how quickly a deal can get done to get back to Nashville and playing football.
