The Philadelphia Eagles haven’t given a good indication what Nnamdi Asomugha’s availability for Sunday’s game with the New England Patriots is, but the cornerback wasn’t seriously injured Thursday as was originally feared.

Asomugha fell to the ground and was carted off the field during Thursday’s practice, but Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported there is no structural damage and surgery will not be required.

Still, it’s not known if he’ll be ready to face Tom Brady, Wes Welker and Co. with the Eagles back into a corner because of their brutal start to the season. Asomugha is likely to have an MRI.

It’s a tough spot for Philadelphia because Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is sidelined with a high-ankle sprain and will not play Sunday.
