Former New York Giants coach Allie Sherman has died at the age of 91.
Sherman died at his Manhattan home.
He coached the Giants to three championship games.
Sherman was named NFL Coach of the Year in 1961 and 1962.
He went 57-51-4 in eight seasons with the Giants.
At 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, Sherman played quarterback at Brooklyn College and spent five seasons in the NFL as a backup with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Sherman was born in Brooklyn in 1923.
