Running back Charles Scott, who has signed a reserve/futures contract with the New York Giants, was injured in an automobile accident earlier this week.

Scott, a sixth-round draft pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010, was taken to intensive care following the accident in Louisiana, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.

Scott was the passenger in a vehicle and details are sketchy at this point.

“I just want to thank all my friends, fans & family for the many needed prayers and support,” Scott said on his Twitter account. “I'm doing well and will be home soon. Love y'all.”

Giants safety Chad Jones, a third-round draft pick last year, was seriously injured in a car accident shortly after the draft. He missed the entire season and may never play again.
