Scott Pagano, one of the top defensive tackles in the Class of 2013, can add another name to his long list of suitors as we close the spring evaluation period: the Florida Gators.
The Moanalua High School (Honolulu, HI) defender will continue to accept offers as he contemplates where he wants to attend college and play football, but Florida head coach Will Muschamp and his staff were the latest to offer the 6-3, 279-pounder, who has said that the Gators were one of his favorite teams growing up.
The DT currently holds offers from Georgia, Florida State, Oklahoma, Michigan, USC and many other major powers. As of now, he only has Florida and LSU booked for official visits. He will name three more officials down the road, but he has unofficial trips scheduled for Texas, LSU, Alabama and either Florida or Florida State in July.
Pagano, who before Florida's offer listed LSU as his favorite, is considered by many recruiting analysts to be one of the most underrated prospects in the 2013 crop. If he does land in Gainesville, Gators defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and defensive line coach Bryant Young will be getting a player who is not only very good but has a lot of room for growth as well.
