According to his boss, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett is not on the hot seat.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters on Thursday, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, that Garrett will coach the team in 2014, guaranteed.
In his third full season, Garrett is directly at .500, which isn't a solid mark by NFL standards. He's gone 8-8 the past two seasons and currently sits at 5-5.
One thing's for sure, the Cowboys have plenty of offensive talent. But the defense has been a different story. The defensive line has been depleted by injuries and linebacker Sean Lee has been dealing with a hamstring injury.
The Cowboys are once again on pace for an 8-8 season. Thing is, though, 8-8 could be enough to win the NFC East this year.
