The Montreal Alouettes signed former Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton to a two-year contract.

The 6-foot-5, 258-pounder passed for 9,923 yards and 69 touchdowns at Fordham.

Skelton, 25, was selected in the fifth round by the Cardinals in the 2010 NFL draft.

With the Cardinals he had 3,707 passing yards and 15 touchdown passes. In 2011, he replaced an injured Kevin Kolb, leading the team to a 5-2 record as the starter. Before joining the Alouettes, Skelton also played for the Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans.
