Humbled by an ugly starting debut, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel is trying to pick up the pieces.

During a 30-0 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Manziel had 80 passing yards, trwo interceptions and a 1.0 passer rating.

"First time I've ever not scored a point or been shut out," Manziel said. "Played in a lot of games, through high school and through college. Never been shut out, so it's definitely tough."

The Browns are sticking with Manziel going forward.

"It's very unfair to judge what somebody's career is going to look like off their first NFL start," Browns coach Mike Pettine said.

ESPN analys Merril Hoge said Sunday that Manziel had first-round hype and sixth-round talent.

"It's very well-known that he's not a big fan of mine," Manziel said. "To me, I'm not really listening to the outside noise. I know I need to play better. If I don't, then people will continue to say things like that."
