The Cleveland Browns have suspended star wide receiver Josh Gordon for their regular-season finale Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens for violating team rules.
Gordon missed the Browns' practice Saturday, according to a league source.
Gordon hasn't excelled since returning from a suspension, but has 24 catches for 303 yards and no touchdowns in five starts this season.
Gordon has a history of off-field problems and served a suspension earlier this season for violating the NFL substance-abuse policy after testing positive for marijuana. He served a suspension last year for testing positive for codeine.
Gordon also had a driving under the influence arrest earlier this year in North Carolina. He had several failed drug tests in college at Baylor and Utah.
The Browns promoted Phil Bates from the practice squad to the active roster with Gordon placed on the reserve-suspended list
Bates is in his first NFL season out of Ohio University. He has a previous stint with the Seattle Seahawks.
