Glen Coffee was not present for practice on Thursday for the San Francisco 49ers and he didn’t show up at practice again this morning.
Now, there is a perfectly good explanation for his absence.
Coffee has decided to retire from the NFL, according to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area.
So much for that third-round draft pick. The 49ers selected Coffee in the third round from Alabama just a year ago. Coffee was expected to be the primary backup to starter Frank Gore this season. He was expected to have a role on special teams. Now, poof, he’s vanished.
just like the New Orleans Saints are.
