Jahvid Best has yet to be cleared for a return to the field, but the Detroit Lions running back is making progress, according to coach Jim Schwartz.
Best has missed the last three games with a concussion and will not play Sunday when the Lions host the Carolina Panthers. The running game has struggled without him. Best has been coming to the team’s facility on a part-time basis.
“I'll just say this with Jahvid, he is improving," Schwartz said, according to Anwar Richardson of MLive.com. "He's back in the building and those kind of things, on a limited basis. I think that's obviously a good sign, but we still don't have clearance for him to do physical activity yet."
Best has attended practice the last two days and that’s viewed as a good sign. But he won’t be cleared to return to the field until he’s symptom-free. Hopefully, that day comes soon for Best, who missed time because of a concussion while at Cal.
