Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan broke the bank.
He was signed to a five-year, $103.75 million contract extension that includes $59 million in guaranted money, according to a league source.
Ryan is now the second-highest paid player in the league with an annual average of $20.75 million just behind Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers' $22 million annual compensation.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco's six-year, $120.6 million contract averages $20.1 million and includes a three-year, $62 million payout.
This is quite the deal, a reward for a player who has met expectations since being drafted in the first round out of Boston College.
