Former Colgate TB Jordan Scott dies at 31

HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP) — Jordan Scott, the all-time leading rusher in Colgate history, has died while on vacation in Thailand.

University officials confirmed the death Tuesday. The 31-year-old Scott had gone missing Friday after jumping into water near a dam in the Ban Ta Khun district south of Bangkok. According to the Bangkok Post, divers located his body on Monday night.

Scott, a native of Washington, D.C., was visiting the area with friends.

Scott rushed for 5,621 yards on 1,240 attempts, averaging 4.5 yards per carry over four seasons before graduating in 2009. He also scored 57 rushing touchdowns and held the Patriot League rushing record until last season.

A GoFundMe account has raised more than $35,000 to help the Scott family with expenses. According to the family, excess funds will go toward a tribute to Scott.
