Report: LSU offensive line decimated by COVID-19

All but four members of LSU's offensive line tested positive for COVID-19 or have been classified as being of a high risk for exposure to the virus, according to a report.

The Advocate in Baton Rouge, La., reported Wednesday that as a result, the team can't put a full offensive line on the field in practice as the players quarantine.

The SEC requires that players who test positive must be quarantined for at least 10 days, while those with high-risk exposure must be isolated for two full weeks.

While The Advocate said the athletic department has declined to confirm the number of student-athletes impacted by COVID-19, the school website has posted campus wide numbers. In the past seven days, LSU has had 27 positive cases and 47 in all since Aug. 15.

The Tigers have a month for their players to return to health. They are scheduled to host Mississippi State in the season opener on Sept. 26.
