Adams back for Seahawks, six others ruled out vs. Bills
Seattle standout safety Jamal Adams will return from a four-game injury absence when the Seahawks visit the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
Adams hasn’t played since sustaining a groin injury in Week 3. The two-time Pro Bowler was acquired from the New York Jets prior to the season and has 23 tackles and two sacks.
While the news was good regarding Adams, six other players were ruled out of Sunday’s game.
Running backs Chris Carson (foot) and Carlos Hyde (hamstring) will both miss their second straight games. Travis Homer (72 yards) and DeeJay Dallas (49) are the only other backs on the 53-man roster but Seattle will likely promote Alex Collins from the practice squad to be the third back.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll was hopeful Carson would test the foot on Friday but that didn’t occur.
“He couldn’t make it today,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. “Today was going to be the day we tried to decide where he was and they didn’t feel like it was right to bring him out there today, so we’ve got to leave him home, take care of him and get him ready for next week (against the Los Angeles Rams).”
The Seahawks also ruled out guard Mike Iupati (back), defensive end Benson Mayowa (ankle), cornerback Shaquill Griffin (concussion/hamstring) and safety Ugo Amadi (hamstring).
