Bears pass rushers Quinn, Mack might miss opener
Chicago Bears defensive ends Robert Quinn and Khalil Mack are on shaky footing to play in the season opener at Detroit on Sunday.
Quinn missed practiced Friday and hasn’t been on the field this week due to an ankle injury and was listed as doubtful on Friday.
Mack, hobbled by a knee injury, practiced Friday for the first time this week. He is questionable for Week 1.
The Bears also listed running back David Montgomery as questionable. Montgomery said Thursday he wouldn’t rush back from a groin strain and risk fighting the issue all season. He practiced Thursday and Friday.
Tarik Cohen has taken the majority of first-team reps the past two weeks at running back.
Quinn signed as an unrestricted free agent in March. His five-year, $70 million deal includes $30 million guaranteed.
