Bills sign WR Stills in time for playoffs

The Buffalo Bills signed veteran Kenny Stills to their practice squad on Monday.

Stills has 4,843 receiving yards and 37 touchdowns in eight NFL seasons with the New Orleans Saints, Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans.

The Texans released him on Nov. 27.

Stills, 28, was sparingly used in Houston this season. He played in 10 games and made 11 catches for 144 yards and one score.

He could be brought up to the active roster in time for Saturday’s wild-card playoff game between the Bills (13-3) and Indianapolis Colts (11-5) in the first playoff game in Buffalo since 1995.

Stills was just one of two potential weapons for quarterback Josh Allen brought on board Monday. The Bills also signed Tanner Gentry, Allen’s former college teammate at Wyoming.

Gentry, 26, appeared in one game for the Chicago Bears in 2017 and most recently played for the New York Guardians of the XFL.

In corresponding moves, the Bills released wide receivers JJ Nelson and Gary Jennings from the practice squad.

The Bills also announced Monday that tight end Tyler Kroft was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list. Kroft, 28, has 12 receptions for 119 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games (four starts) this season.
