Broncos CB Dawson (knee) carted off field vs. Panthers

Denver Broncos cornerback Duke Dawson Jr. sustained a non-contact knee injury during the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

Nearly the entire Broncos team came off the bench to console Dawson, who was carted off the field. He was promptly ruled out for the game.

The Broncos were without A.J. Bouye (suspension), Bryce Callahan (injured reserve) and Essang Bassey (injured reserve) heading into Sunday’s contest.

Will Parks was expected to fill in for Dawson, who had recorded six tackles in 11 games entering Sunday’s game.

Dawson, 25, had 19 tackles and one fumble recovery in 14 games with the Broncos in 2019. He was selected by the New England Patriots in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft from Florida.
