Browns activate DE Garrett, place S Harrison on IR
The Cleveland Browns activated defensive end Myles Garrett off the reserve/COVID-19 list and placed safety Ronnie Harrison on injured reserve, the team announced Tuesday.
Garrett, 24, was tied for the league lead in sacks (9.5) before sitting out the team’s past two games. Cleveland (8-3) won both contests, however, including registering five sacks in its 22-17 win over Philadelphia on Nov. 22.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Garrett has 40 sacks, 79 quarterback hits, 135 tackles and 10 forced fumbles in 46 career games (44 starts) for Cleveland.
Harrison sustained a shoulder injury during the first quarter of the Browns’ 27-25 victory over Jacksonville on Sunday. Multiple media outlets reported that the 23-year-old could miss four-to-six weeks due to the injury.
Harrison has recorded 32 tackles and one interception in 10 games in 2020 since being acquired in a trade with the Jaguars prior to the season.
