Browns TE Njoku activated from injured reserve
Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku was activated from injured reserve, the team announced Saturday.
Njoku has been sidelined since the season opener with a knee injury. He will be available to play for the Browns (3-1) on Sunday (4:25 p.m. ET) against the visiting Indianapolis Colts (3-1).
The 24-year-old Njoku caught all three of his targets for 50 yards and a touchdown in Cleveland’s 38-6 loss to Baltimore on Sept. 13 before leaving in the second half.
Njoku has 96 receptions for 1,116 yards and 10 touchdowns in 37 games since the Browns made him a first-round pick (29th overall) out of Miami, Fla., in 2017. He missed 12 games last season with a broken wrist.
The Browns also promoted defensive tackle Joey Ivie to the active roster and signed Cameron Malveaux to their practice squad.
