Buccaneers sign veteran OL Earl Watford

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed veteran offensive lineman Earl Watford on Thursday. Terms were not disclosed.

Watford, 31, made four starts for the Buccaneers in 2019. He split time between the practice squad and the active roster with the Super Bowl LV champions last season but did not appear in any games.

A fourth-round draft pick by Arizona in 2013, Watford has played in 71 games (25 starts) and collected six fumble recoveries with the Cardinals (2014-17), Cleveland Browns (2018) and Bucs.

Watford has also spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears and New England Patriots. He adds depth to a line currently dealing with injuries to centers Robert Hainsey and Donell Stanley and to tackles Josh Wells and Chidi Okeke.

Tampa Bay waived defensive tackle Sam Renner in a corresponding transaction.
