Buccaneers WR Godwin in concussion protocol
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin is in the concussion protocol, coach Bruce Arians said Wednesday.
Godwin, 24, exhibited no symptoms Monday or Tuesday but had some Wednesday, Arians said. Godwin, the Bucs’ leading receiver in Week 1 against the Saints, took a helmet shot late in Sunday’s 34-23 loss in New Orleans.
Godwin led the Bucs in targets, catches and yards on Sunday, hauling in six passes for 79 yards. The fourth-year pro caught 86 passes for 1,333 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games last season.
The Buccaneers will host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in their second straight NFC South contest.
