Bears vs Rams MNF Betting Pick

Bears Rams Pick

The Chicago Bears always seem to cover the spread on Monday Night, while the Los Angeles Rams never seem to cover on MNF. The evidence? The Bears are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games played on a Monday, while the Rams are 2-7-1 ATS in their past 10.

This is a rare case where bettors get a 5-1 team as 6-point underdogs. The Rams come off off a tough loss on Sunday Night against the San Francisco 49ers and have yet to prove they can beat any team not in the woeful NFC East (all four of their wins so far).

The Bears are 7-3 ATS in their past 10 games vs the Rams. I like for that trend to continue on Monday Night, and I think the Bears win this game outright in my upset of the week.

Why the Bears can cover the spread

It’s very rare to see a 5-1 team sitting as 6-point underdogs, but the Bears find themselves in that situation on Monday Night. The Bears are coming off a big win against the Carolina Panthers, in a game that saw the defense totally dominate. They held QB Teddy Bridgewater to 216 yards and 2 INTs, and he was clearly uncomfortable in the pocket the entire game.

The Bears have been great at causing problems for opposing QBs all season. The Bears own the 2nd best DVOA pass defense in the NFL, and have 10 takeaways this season, good for 8th in the league. Jared Goff and the Rams offense have yet to play against a defense like the Bears.

The Rams have yet to win a game outside the NFC East, so this Bears defense will be quite the test for Sean McVay and the Rams offense.

Why the Rams can cover the spread

The Rams are heading back home after a tough loss on Sunday Night, and will look to continue their dominance inside the NFC conference. The Rams are 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 conference games, and are 4-1 this season overall against NFC opponents.

The Rams offense has been sneaky good this season. Led by Goff, the Rams own the 5th best DVOA offense in the league, and have scored more than 30 points three times this season. On defense, Donald should be able to cause all sorts of problems for the Bears. The Bears will be starting a rookie at RG, and Donald has feasted against rookies in the past.

Bears Rams pick

I simply can’t back a team that has yet to win a game outside the NFC East yet, especially if they are 6-point favorites. Getting a 5-1 team at +6 is a gift, and I think this game will be decided by a field goal. Take the Bears and the points in this one.
