Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (COVID-19 protocols) out vs. Chiefs

Dallas Cowboys receiver Amari Cooper will miss Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs after entering COVID-19 protocols.

The Cowboys indicated Cooper would also likely miss the Thanksgiving Day contest against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Dallas is ranked No. 1 in the NFL in scoring offense (31.6 points per game) and total offense (433.9 yards per game), so not having Cooper against the powerful Chiefs rates as a huge blow.

Cooper has 44 receptions for 583 yards and five touchdowns in nine games this season. In 50 games with the Cowboys, Cooper has 268 catches for 3,611 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Overall, Cooper has 493 receptions for 6,794 yards and 43 touchdowns in 102 games over seven seasons. The four-time Pro Bowler played his first 3 1/2 seasons for the then-Oakland Raiders (2015-18) before being dealt to the Cowboys.

Dallas got wideout Michael Gallup back last weekend after a seven-game absence due to a left calf strain. Gallup, who had 1,107 receiving yards in 2019, could have a bigger role with Cooper sidelined.

Dallas listed three players as questionable against the Chiefs: left tackle Tyron Smith (ankle), cornerback Kelvin Joseph (personal reasons) and cornerback Nahshon Wright (hamstring).
