Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (concussion) returns to practice

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb practiced Wednesday for the first time since sustaining a concussion in Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The second-year wideout still must be cleared by an independent neurologist before taking the field in Thursday’s Thanksgiving Day game against the visiting Las Vegas Raiders.

“I don’t know if we’ll have that finalized here or if it will be tomorrow. I can’t get you the exact timeline. … He hasn’t missed a step on a short week. Just as we discussed on Monday, if he’s able to keep progressing through, we see him as available for the game,” head coach Mike McCarthy said, per WFAA TV.

Lamb, 22, was injured late in the first half of the Cowboys’ 19-9 loss to the Chiefs on a jump ball in the end zone. Lamb had three catches for 14 yards. The 2020 first-round pick has 50 catches for 740 yards and six touchdowns on the season.

The Cowboys (7-3) are already facing the Raiders (5-5) without starting wideout Amari Cooper, who remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The unvaccinated Cooper tested positive last week and has to quarantine a mandatory 10 days.
