Dolphins activate WR Preston Williams, LB Elandon Roberts from PUP list
The Miami Dolphins activated wide receiver Preston Williams and linebacker Elandon Roberts from the Physically Unable to Perform list on Thursday.
Both were in pads for Thursday’s practice.
Williams, 24, started seven of Miami’s first eight games last season before landing on injured reserve with a foot injury suffered in a Nov. 8 victory against the Arizona Cardinals. He also spent time on the reserve/COVID-19 list earlier this summer.
Undrafted in 2019, Williams has caught 50 passes for 716 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 games (14 starts) for the Dolphins.
Roberts, 27, started 11 of his 13 games in 2020, his first season with the Dolphins, before sustaining a season-ending knee injury during a Dec. 26 win against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Roberts has 267 tackles (23 for losses), 5.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries in 73 games (44 starts) with the New England Patriots (2016-19) and Dolphins. He won two Super Bowls with the Patriots, who drafted him in the sixth round in 2016.
