Dolphins: CB Jones out, WR Parker to play Thursday
The Miami Dolphins won’t have cornerback Byron Jones but wide receiver DeVante Parker is good to go for Thursday night’s game against the Jaguars in Jacksonville.
Jones has not practiced this week while dealing with twin injuries to his groin and Achilles. He left Sunday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills early in the first half and did not return.
Jones, who turns 28 on Saturday, has four tackles in two starts in his first season with Miami. He signed a five-year, $82.5 million deal with the Dolphins in March after five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.
Parker, who been dealing with a hamstring issue for several weeks, advanced from limited to full participation for Wednesday’s practice. He did not receive an injury designation for Thursday’s game.
Parker, 27, has hauled in nine of his 12 targets for 100 yards and one touchdown through two games. He broke out in 2019 with 72 receptions for 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns, all career highs for the 2015 first-round pick.
Safety Clayton Fejedelem is listed as doubtful for Thursday with a pectoral injury.
