Eagles activate TE Goedert, WR Reagor

The Philadelphia Eagles activated tight end Dallas Goedert, wide receiver Jalen Reagor and three others in advance of Sunday night’s divisional matchup with the Dallas Cowboys.

Also activated were tackle Jason Peters, safety Rudy Ford and linebacker T.J. Edwards, the team announced Saturday.

The return of Goedert and Reagor will give quarterback Carson Wentz some much-needed weapons. On the season, Wentz has completed just 58.6 percent of his passes, with 10 touchdowns and a league-leading 10 interceptions.

Goedert fractured an ankle in the Eagles’ 23-23 tie with the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 27. He was placed on injured reserve two days later.

Reagor, a first-round draft pick in April, sustained torn thumb ligaments in Week 2 and was expected to be sidelined for six or seven weeks, but he returned to practice this week and participated without incident.

Tight end Zach Ertz, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, remains on injured reserve with an ankle injury.

Goedert has 13 receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown on the season. Reagor caught five passes for 96 yards in the first two games.

Peters, a nine-time Pro Bowl selection, went on IR on Oct. 3 with a toe injury. His return will give a boost to an offensive line that has seen Wentz sacked 28 times.

The Eagles (2-4-1) lead the struggling NFC East. The Cowboys and Washington Football Team are 2-5, with the New York Giants in last place at 1-6.
