Eagles place LB Edwards, S Ford on injured reserve
Philadelphia Eagles starting linebacker T.J. Edwards and safety Rudy Ford were placed on injured reserve, the team announced Thursday.
Both players sustained hamstring injuries in the Eagles’ 25-20 victory over San Francisco on Sunday night. They will not be available for at least the next three games as a result of the move.
Edwards, 24, has recorded 15 tackles and a forced fumble while starting all four games this season.
Edwards has 45 tackles and a forced fumble in 20 career games with the Eagles (1-2-1), who likely will turn to Alex Singleton to take his spot in the lineup on Sunday (1 p.m. ET) against the host Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0).
Singleton, who is a former CFL Most Outstanding Defensive Player winner, returned an interception for a touchdown in the win over the 49ers.
Ford, 25, has made five tackles while competing on special teams in three games this season.
